Cleeses Ferry Road
Davidson Co., TN
2007 Dec. 18
Wednesday I left work before 4 pm and went to search for
the Whooping Cranes found during the Nashville CBC. The
two were easily visible and calling just off of Cleeses
Ferry Road and in a field next to some large ponds, the
same area where they were originally found. Many Canada
Geese were still resident, but I found no Snow or White
fronted Geese with them.
NOTE: There are several sections of Cleeses Ferry Road in
the western part of Davidson County. To find the birds go
west about 3 miles on Hydes Ferry Pike (Route 12?) from
its intersection with Briley Parkway. Then go south about
2.5 miles on Old Hickory Blvd from its intersection with
Hydes Ferry Pike. Cleeses Ferry Road branches to the right
off of Old Hickory Blvd. and after going up and down a
small hill (about 0.2 miles) the ponds and open fields are
on the right hand side (looking west?).
