While Dean is on the topic of Ivory-billed Woodpecker books, I'm also
reading one:
"The Race to Save the Lord God Bird" by Hoose.
The author is pretty obviously not a birder, but he is a good writer
and has apparently done some good research. It reads like a
well-written shortish novel, but has good pictures, good sidebars and
lots of "facts and dates" which do not bog the reader down. It also
talks a lot about Jim Tanner.
