TN-Birders,
I birded the area around the Cravens house in Chattanooga yesterday =
morning for 3 hours. Things were quite brown up there. Not too many =
trees had any green on them. Weather was mostly calm and cool and the =
birding was quite good (at least exciting for me since I've seen few =
migrants this year so far). Highlights are below, including some early =
and late birds:

Cerulean Warbler: 4=20
Black-thr green Warbler: 12+
Hooded Warbler: 9
Worm-eater: 4, saw a couple before I heard any
Black and white warbler: 2
Prairie Warbler: 4, got about 15ft from one that sang oh so softly
Red-eyed Vireo: 6 (at least)
White-eyed Vireo: 1
Blue-headed vireo: 2=20
Wood Thrush: 2
Indigo Bunting: 1 male (lone bird)
Rose-breasted Grosbeak: 4 (nice to see them in the brown trees, I rarely =
ever get to actually see one)
Ruby-thr Hummer: 1 buzzed me
Grey-cheeked Thrush: 1 (early??, got nice looks at it too)
Swainson's Thrush: 1 (bathing in the water on gravel road)
Ovenbird: 2=20
Field Sparrow: 1 (near the water on along gravel road, odd to find it =
there??)
House Wren: 1=20
Winter Wren: 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker: 1 (very late???)
Summer Tanager: 1=20

Quite a nice morning.

Good Birding,
  Scott Somershoe
