[TN-Bird] Re: Crane Weekend Donation and Challenge

President Jan Shaw and Nashville TOS:
cc: Kenn Kaufman

The Bristol Bird Club has accepted your challenge.
More than a week ago, our small membrship
(compared to other sizeable chapters) "did what we could."

We donated about $200 to the crane cause. Much of that was given in cash
contributions from members buying tickets, and donations to a cash drawing
which was also spent on tickets to support the effort. In additon, our club
paid Ken Dubke's overnight and other expenses to come to Bristol and educate
us about cranes.

Last year we gave about $150 from our club funds.

Thanks for the challenge and for all the good things you Nashville folks are
doing for the cranes.

Kenn Kaufman has been a very special friend to the Bristol Bird Club in
recent years. He has talked to our club, taken us on an invitational-only
field trip and fostered personal friendships. We have a delegation headed
to Chattanooga to continue the friendship of our birders with Kaufman and to
enjoy the cranes. They will be there on Friday and Saturday nights, Feb. 7
& 8.

The members of the Bristol Bird Club have done what little we can and we
wish everyone (and the cranes) much success.

Bristol joins Nashville's leadership and we challenge others.

Bristol, TN
