[TN-Bird] Crane Weekend Donation and Challenge

As president of the Nashville Chapter of TOS, I would like to let folks know 
that our chapter has voted to give a donation of $500.00 to the Chattanooga 
chapter for the 11th Annual Sandhill Crane and Cherokee Heritage Weekend at 
Birchwood, TN., February 7-9, 2003.  We all feel that this is a very 
important and worthwhile project for all birders to be involved in.  And we 
would like to challenge all the other TOS chapters around the state to match 
our donation, or to just give as much as you can.  I know this is short 
notice, but if you can't get together before the Crane Weekend, I know your 
generous offers would be welcome after the fact also.  All proceeds will 
benefit ongoing bird conservation efforts at the Hiwassee Refuge and the 
Cherokee Memorial.  Let's support this important area which hosts one of the 
largest congregations of cranes in the world.
