[TN-Bird] Cooper's Hawk

I have enjoyed the recent behavior postings regarding
Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks.  I'll add two:

Count day, December 14, Johnny Parks and I were owling at Standifer Gap Marsh 
before daylight.  We played a Screech Owl recording in the dense stand of pines 
on the western side, and a very agitated Cooper's Hawk answered.  It continued 
the kuk kuk kuk sound long after we quit playing the owl.  

Several years ago at our home in SW Virginia a Cooper's Hawk visited our feeder 
daily.  On one visit it chased a Blue Jay into a dense White Pine windbreak.  
The Jay went right thru and came out the other side and turned and flew back 
thru the pines, followed by the hawk.  After five such passes thru the pines, 
the Jay turned immediately, flew a few feet, right against the pines, and 
ducked back in just before the hawk emerged.  When the hawk came out of the 
pines it couldn't see the Jay, went to a nearby tree and waited, but the Jay 
out-waited it.
