[TN-Bird] Common Moorhen in Murfreesboro

An adult Common Moorhen was seen in a flooded field near Murfreesboro on
Sunday morning (18 May). From Nashville on I-24, exit 78A toward Franklin.
At the first traffic light, turn left on Cason Lane and proceed 4 miles to
T-junction with Hwy 99. Turn right (south) and go 2 miles to Kimbro Road.
The water is about 3 miles along Kimbro Road on the right (south), and the
bird was feeding very near the road and could be observed without leaving the
car. This area will be very good for shorebirds, etc. for the next several
weeks. Local rarities have been seen here in the past including the only
County record of Ruddy Turnstone. (page 38 of the DeLorme atlas). Sorry the
posting didn't make it through yesterday morning. I will check at noon today
to see if the bird is still around and post results .
