I have not seen much about this outbreak in the local news media. Are any
other TN-Birders finding these cicadas this year?
I have not seen or heard even one 17 year cicada this year, and I had swarms
of them 17 years ago. I couldn't walk outside my door then without being hit
by several, and their little exoskeletons were all over the outdoor bricks of
my house. I can't say that I miss them. They did sort of drive me batty!
