On Friday, August 8, Highland Rim TOS members Vida Sherwood, Ruth Luckado,
Laura McCall & LouAnn Partington took part in the Driftwood Wildlife
Association's "A Swift Night Out". We counted 387 Chimney Swifts entering
their roost at the chimney at Tullahoma High School. Along with the swifts, we
also saw a Common Nighthawk circling and vocalizing high above the swifts.
Other species seen or heard were Blue Jays, American Robins, Eastern Kingbirds,
a female Northern Cardinal with her most recent fledgling, many Rock Pigeons,
Canada Geese, Hairy Woodpecker and Killdeer. Not bad for downtown Tullahoma!
