Alana Terrel (TVA Terrestrial Zoologist) and I birded Chickamauga Lake 
(Hiwassee River) on December 14, 2007 from 9:26 am to 3:36 pm.  The following 
birds are highlights only.
 
North Mouse Creek, McMinn County

2. Wilson Snipe- 13
 
Roger's Creek, McMinn County
1. Killdeer- 70
2. Wilson Snipe- 26
3. Great Blue Heron- at least 75 nests occupied by birds Great Blues
 
Hiwassee Refuge Wildlife Observation Area, Meigs County
1. Sandhill Crane- 1000s
2. Whooping Crane- 3; 2 adult, 1 juv
3. Snow Geese- 19
 
Sugar Creek, Meigs County
1. Green Heron- 1
 
Gunstocker Creek, Meigs County
1. Horned Grebe- 1
 
Candies Creek, Bradley County
1. Killdeer- ~228
2. Dunlin- ~30
3. Least Sandpiper- ~21
4. Wilson Snipe- at least 1
