I thought many of you would like to read this article. In a town in NC
called Boiling Spring Lake, thousands of trees have been cut down because a
few of
the endangered Red Cockaded Woodpeckers have found some pine trees they want
to call home. Townspeople are afraid that if they let the birds excavate on
their lot, that their property will be declared protective habitat. There is
a place on this site, where you can vote your opinion on whether they should
stop issuing clearing permits.
