The immature BROWN PELICAN was last reported on Chickamauga Lake on Sunday
(7/11). It was apparently moving up and down the river and has been seen
from Gold Point marina up to Vincent Rd. It has also been seen from the
development just south of Booker T Washington State Park. The best place
still seems to be the bouy marker # 472.3 out from Gold Point marina and
that is where it was last seen. If you would like to try to see the bird
from the marina, please call Jeff Bryson at 421-0095 to get permission.
Please let me know of any reports since the 11th.

A Virginia Rail was seen and photographed at Standifer Gap marsh on July 14.
(James Brooks)

A SORA was seen at Amnicola marsh on July 16. This is a very early migrant.
(David Vogt)

The two adult Peregrine Falcons, but neither of the fledglings are still
being seen below Chickamauga Dam this last week. (Harold Sharpe)

The next general meeting of the Chattanooga TOS will be on August 8 at 7:00
PM at the Accension Luthern Church 720 SouthGermantown Road

Be on the lookout for the first fall migrants.
