[TN-Bird] Cattle Egret, Vesper Sparrow, etc. (Greene Co., Cocke Co., TN)

This afternoon, Alice Loftin and I spent a hurried two hours birding in
western Greene County, with a brief stop in Cocke County at the scenic
but dilapidated Nolichuckey River bridge on Knob Creek Road.  We found a
few noteworthy species, though we were disappointed in regard to
swallows, one of our main targets.  Here's the scoop (all observations
in Greene County unless otherwise noted):

Cattle Egret (in a field on Green Road about halfway between its
endpoints at North Mohawk Road and
    Highway 348) [this is only my second record for Cattle Egret in
Greene County, the other one occurring on
    May 19, 1999 in the eastern part of the county];
Green-winged Teal (6 at Wal-Mart Distribution Center);
Blue-winged Teal (9 at Wal-Mart Distribution Center);
Northern Shoveler (8 on Green Road in the two ponds adjacent to the
field with the Cattle Egret);
Northern Harrier (2, Greene County);
Wild Turkey (50 along Pates Hill Road);
Red-headed Woodpecker (on Green Road 0.3 mile from Highway 348);
Loggerhead Shrike (2 on Murray Bridge Road 0.1 mile west of Sapp Road);
Vesper Sparrow (less than one hundred feet inside Cocke County at the
Knob Creek Road bridge).

Also present: 2 Falcate Orangetips (butterflies) along Highway 340 in
Greene County.
