What a great Trip Report, Thanks Kevin................

Memphis, TN is well birdied by Total Tickers. Paul Lehman comes through
regularly to top off ever increasing ABA minimums for state listings due to
species added over the years. All this attention because in one day you can
add birds to 3 state "Tic" lists at excellent birding spots just minutes
away in any direction, any time of the year. If fact, I've birdied around the
area helping 6 of the top 10 Tickers and a total of 8 of the top 20 with
their TN-AR-MS Lists.

Just on an Ol'Coot whim one day, June 7, 2007, Mike Todd and I set out
just to see if we could top 100 species in each of three states AR-TN-MS in
one day, or as an after thought a Ticker's BIG DAY, how many "Tics" we could
get in just one day. It was not a real tough day, starting at 6 AM in my
yard and finishing at 8 PM across the river at Wapanocca NWR in AR. We
tallied 329 "Tics" with 75 species seen in all three states, 153 total
species,
TN-111, MS-106 and AR-112.

Kevin, what would be a record high number of "Tics" seen in one day or
where else would one try?

Good Birding !!!
