Carol,
I don't know where the Sulphur butterflies go (except South) but right now they
have my Auger plants (Turks Caps) covered up as they do this time every year.
Painted Ladies migrate. This I know because I saw a motor home in Pecos Texas
a few years back that had several squooshed on the grille. I said something to
the owner about it and he said that he had run through what appeared to be a
blizzard of them as he came from Tucson AZ to Pecos. This was in the spring,
so it is apparent that they had been in Mexico or farther South.
Mourning Cloaks hibernate in hollow trees etc and do not migrate.
