Birders,
What a joy to be serenaded with the bubbling sounds of a house wren at
breakfast for the past two mornings here in Charlotte Park, West
Nashville,Davidson County just east of the Cumberland River across from Bell's
Bend. The
gourd in which a pair nested last year is ready, so the bird may be checking
it
out. It will be interesting to see if the house wrens or "Cousins Carolina"
get to the gourd first. Last year, the Carolinas took it over after the baby
house wrens fledged and left, so I had two kinds of wrens use the space. I
brought two more gourds back from Alabama this year, and I plan to get them up
this weekend.
