was seen yesterday on the Oak Ridge Reservation at the Bear
Creek Rd. marsh area below the Hwy 58 bridge (anyone wanting a
more specific location can drop us an e-mail). Also seen &
heard: numerous Northern bobwhites, Orchard oriole,
Yellow-breasted chat, 2 Red-headed woodpeckers, 4 Wood ducks,
Barn/ Northern rough-winged/ Tree swallows, Great crested
flycatcher, Eastern kingbirds, & 4 osprey sightings (1 osprey
was flying with prey in it?s talons, but dropped the payload).
Heard: Prothonotary & Common yellowthroat warblers.

yesterday as well. Highlights: Northern parulas (1 seen at the
Beaver lodge/ marsh area, but heard frequently), Yellow-billed
cuckoos, Male ruby-throated hummingbird, Yellow-breasted chats,
Blue-gray gnatcatchers everywhere, & Blue-headed & White-eyed

A quick stop on Hwy 95 near Melton Hill dam at the small dam
area yielded a Black crowned night heron, a huge snapping turtle
sunning on a log, & 4 Great blue herons (I keep thinking I?m
seeing the silhouette of Little blue heron in this area on my
daily drive to work, but yet to verify).
Other sightings over the 3 day weekend:

Prairie warblers galore (nesting in the young pines near the
point overlook)), Yellow-throated warbler, Hooded warblers,
Blue headed vireos, Blue gray gnatcatchers.
Kyker Bottoms- Blue grosbeak, Yellow-breasted chat,
Yellow-billed cuckoo, Common yellowthroat warbler, Scarlet
tanager, & Northern bobwhites.
