5/25/09 Knox Co. Island Home Area
Monday while walking on the road in the Forks of the River Wildlife area, I
spotted a female Bobwhite Quail. The quail
was semi-tame, and did not fly when approached. The Mulberry trees were loaded
with berries, and many ripe berries
had fallen on the ground. I saw lots of deer tracks in the sunflower fields. I
saw and heard lots of Cedar Waxwings.
One bird I saw was either an Indigo Bunting or a Blue Grosbeak. It was all blue
except for black wings.
Also jumped one rabbit, and found 2 small ponds with tadpoles and dragonflies.
