[TN-Bird] B-n-W Warblers arrive in Costa Rica

August 26, 2005

First Black-and-white Warblers of the season arrived today (26 August), near 
Monteverde, Costa Rica?at approximately 4500 feet elevation (Province = 
Puntarenas).
At least three, including 2 adult females and one immature, were gleaning 
insects from a large native fig tree and surrounding vegetation.
They were part of a feeding flock that included woodcreepers, wrens, 
tanagers, non-migratory warblers, honeycreepers, bush-tanagers, and tityras.

We surely welcome migration here too!  A start of a new season with some old 
familiar friends.
