This morning there were 4 White-fronted geese on the back shoreline of the
Stilt pond in Blount County. This is the small pond between Hitch Pond and
Phelp's Pond. There were also 2 pair of Woodducks, 1 female Bufflehead and 10
Mallards on the Stilt pond. Nothing on Hitch pond except for a fisherman.
Phelp's pond was quite too with a single pair of Mallards the only waterfowl.
There were 2 Killdeer flying over it and a total of 20 Great blue heron in
the trees with 14 being on nests in Phelps pond. I finally saw the Loggerhead
shrike on Roy Goddard Road and found 2 of Dean's shrike caches.

Seven Tree swallows were cavorting over the Miser Station mudflats and on
Lillard Lane there were the usual 100+ Canada geese and 10 Sandhill cranes all
of which appeared to be in pairs but not displaying.

No Ospreys yet at Scenic Point or Louisville Point Park. There were 3 Great
blue herons on nests in a single tree between the marina and park.
