[TN-Bird] Birds at Walker Branch State Natural Area

While working at Walker Branch State Natural Area in Hardin County south of 
Savannah, TN on April 24, 2009 I saw/heard the following birds (select list, 
not all heard/seen are listed):

 

1. Two Great blue herons and one Great Egret in a small heronry consisting of 
three nests.  Herons seen standing on or near nests.

2. Red-eye vireo

3. Kentucky warbler

4. Wood thrush

5. Blue-gray gnatcatcher

6. Northern parula

7. Gray catbird

8. Great-crested flycatcher

9. Yellow-breasted chat

10. White-eyed vireo

11. Yellow warbler

12. Common yellowthroat

13. Yellow-throated warbler

14. Indigo bunting

15. Chimney swift

16. Louisiana waterthrush

17. Prairie warbler

18. Swainson's thrush

19. Eastern kingbird

20. Rose-breasted grosbeak

 

Other critters seen: Featherfoil (Hottonia inflata)- a state-listed aquatic 
plant, eastern pine elfin, cottonmouth, bird-voice treefrog, harlequin darner, 
springtime darner, brown spiketail, swamp darner, Cope's gray treefrog
