A friend of mine from church asked me the following question and frankly, I've
never thought of the plastic issue. Any comments? Anyone seen (or done) any
studies on bird bath composition?
I have a birdbath made of plastic that birds love. Now that it's older I'm
afraid the toxins in the plastic will leach into the water in hot weather and
effect subtle genetic changes in the birds (:-(

I figure I need to toss it or plant in it unless I can coat it with fiberlass
or something non-toxic. Do you have any advice or know someone who may help? I
should prob just buy a new one but this one is so pretty!
