[TN-Bird] Barred Owl (Greene Co., TN)

Cherokee National Forest, Greene Co., TN

This evening at about 7:00, Alice Loftin and I observed a Barred Owl on
Hurricane Gap Road 0.8 mile from Paint Creek Campground.  The bird flew
across the road in the beams of our headlights and gave us a solid look
for about three seconds before disappearing into the gorge along Lower
Paint Creek.
