[TN-Bird] Balt. Oriole, etc - Knox

Just had a few minutes to check out the backyard (western
Knox Co, TN) before work this morning (Thurs, 27 April 2006)
but several good birds. I was out of town for 3 of the last
4 weeks so several (in all CAPS) were new for the season.

Incidently, we have Carolina Chickadees nesting in both
nest boxes at opposite ends of the yard, about 150 ft apart,
with the feeders halfway between. Makes for some interesting
and frequent squabbles.

Backyard:

YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, 1 calling
Red-eyed Vireo, 1-2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 1
Gray Catbird, 1
"Myrtle" Warbler, 20-30
AMERICAN REDSTART, at least 1 female
"WESTERN" PALM WARBLER, 1 singing male
Yellow Warbler, 1 singing
Scarlet Tanager, 1-2 males singing
BALTIMORE ORIOLE, at least 1 singing male

Middlebrook Pike at Lovell Rd and Ballcamp Pike:
BROAD-WINGED HAWK, 1

Around the NTRC building where I work, Hardin Valley Exit on
Pellissippi Parkway, also western Knox Co.:

Wild Turkey, 1 hen
EASTERN KINGBIRD, 1
Tree Swallow, pair nesting
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, 1 singing
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, 1 singing
Indigo Bunting, 4+
