About noon on Saturday (29 Dec 2007), one of our dogs wanted to
go outside. While standing on the front porch waiting for her to
do her business, I spotted a soaring raptor. Not right for a
Turkey Vulture or Red-tailed Hawk... kinda looks like an eagle.
After literally running inside to get the binoculars, I confirmed
an adult Bald Eagle catching a thermal over the neighborhood.
After another run inside for the camera and I was able to get several
shots as it circled, then passed directly over the house, and then
circled in another thermal on the back-side of the house before
finally sailing off towards Solway and Melton Hill Lake.
Yard bird #152.
