Old Hickory Lake
Davidson County, TN
This morning I found a beautiful juvenile Baird's Sandpiper at Snow Bunting
Peninsula near Old Hickory Lake Dam north of Nashville. It was with a Killdeer
and feeding constantly, with a little preening thrown in. This is the same
place that Dean Edwards excitedly spotted the Snow Bunting on 1-10-99. Snow
Bunting Peninsula is at the end of Burnett Rd. off of Swinging Bridge Rd.
Other birds in the area:
Great Blue Heron
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron
Black-crowned Night-Heron
Pied-billed Grebe
Double-crested Cormorant
American Coot
Ring-billed Gull
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
