[TN-Bird] BBS and car traffic

As I get my BBS data for 2008 compiled and entered into the database,  
I've noticed an interesting pattern.  Total number of passing  
vehicles on my routes was lower this year than in 2007.  Has anyone  
else noticed a pattern in vehicle traffic?  One wonders, statistical  
fluke or effect of high fuel prices?
