I have a question about American Woodcocks? I have only been a serious birdwatcher for a few years, and this is my first sighting ever of an American Woodcock. There was one in my backyard on 2/21/06 at about 10 pm. I was so amazed at the new yard bird, but, when I consulted my bird books, I found that it is here only in the summer. My question is.Is it normal for them to return to this area this early? Thank you, Linda Lynch Jamestown, TN (Fentress Co.) =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation.
