[TN-Bird] Am. Woodcock display, Lewis County

This evening (Dec. 20, 2006) just after 5 p.m. when I went to lock up  
my chickens for the night, I was greeted by the sounds of the first  
American Woodcock display flight I've encountered this season.  They  
generally display every winter at our place here in western Lewis  
County, practically right over our house. The tinkling flight sounds  
lasted for several minutes, followed after a short pause by two loud  
vocalizations from the weedy field just north of the house.  It was  
too deep into a cloudy twilight to see anything.
