Carver's Gap on Roan Mtn, Carter Co, TN / Mitchell Co, NC
An Alder Flycatcher was back on one of the usual territories.
This species is typically one of the last breeding birds in TN to arrive.
A single Red Crossbill was heard passing overhead. There is a good
looking cone crop coming on the fraser firs, so this may be a good year
for crossbills on Roan.
