These solid white Red-tails have been recorded over the years and I have
photos of 2 that were kept in captivity. Someone was even trying to get them
acknowledged as a separate race, which I thought pretty funny. These all white
birds sport pale beaks and talons, pure white feathering but dark eyes so are
not true albinos. I've seen the complete variety of partial albinism in wild
Red-tails from all white to just a few sprinkled white feathers.
As Mr. McNeil states they are truly worth the time to look and wonder at.
What a great way to end a birding year!
Good Birding!!!
