[TN-Bird] Re: Albinistic Red-tailed Hawk (Washington Co.)

These solid white Red-tails have been recorded over the years and I  have 
photos of 2 that were kept in captivity. Someone was even trying to get  them 
acknowledged as a separate race, which I thought pretty funny. These all  white 
birds sport pale beaks and talons, pure white feathering but dark  eyes so are 
not true albinos. I've seen the complete variety of partial albinism  in wild 
Red-tails from all white to just a few sprinkled white  feathers.
 
As Mr. McNeil states they are truly worth the time to look and wonder at.  
What a great way to end a birding year!
