[TN-Bird] Alabama Ornithological Society Invitation

TN-Birders:
As announced by TOS President Virginia Reynolds, the Alabama Ornithological
Society has been extended an invitation on behalf of the TOS officers to
hold a late-developing joint meeting with TOS at Cookeville, October
8-9-10.
The AOS has received the invitation and President Bob Reed was very pleased
that TOS had extended the offer of a joint meeting at this time. He has
sent his board news of the invitation with an urgent reply request.
Bob said he should be able to let us know Wednesday at the latest what the
official reply will be.
The invitation is extended to assist AOS because they lost their fall
meeting access at Dauphin Island, AL due to Hurricane Ivan. TOS has
logistics in place and will be able to handle the arrangements. Michael
Rodell, TWRA State Ornithologist at Nashville, has been assisting with the
communications. Rodell and Wallace Coffey will be available to assist
Virginia Reynolds as needed to assure the meeting goes as well as possible
if AOS is able to accept this invitaiton.
TOS members owe a big thank you to our Virginia Reynolds for quikcly acting
on the possible joint meeting, getting decisive action from our officers and
immediately extending the invitation to AOS on behalf of our membership.
