[TN-Bird] A phoebe day

Early this morning (Saturday) as I walked out my front door to get the
newspaper I heard the unmistakable song of an Eastern Phoebe -- the first
I've heard one at my home in west Knox County, Tennessee. A little later I
heard a mockingbird singing the phoebe's song as part of his extensive
repetoire.

Best of all, I spent about an hour at the Maryville Greenway (Blount County)
around lunch time. While sitting at a picnic bench next to a pink flowering
tree (crab apple?) whose trunk was full of sapsucker holes, I watched two
Eastern Phoebes gather nest material from the stream's bank and fly with it
underneath a small foot bridge where they must be building a nest.
