[TN-Bird] A common cause of friction

On Sunday, Kay and I spent some time at Normandy Lake (? Coffee Co.) and
Bedford Lake, Bedford Co. We found one Common Loon at Normandy Dam. We found
48 species in a couple of hours. A debate might have been set up by us both
looking for a vireo-sounding bird in a nearby tree. I saw a bird with a
bright yellow head, Kay saw it as having a greenish head but yellow throat and
spectacles. The song, confirmed later, clinched her Yellow-throated Vireo, and
the illustrations supported my Prothontary Warbler. As so often, we were
looking at two different birds very close together. I am sure this situation
has
happened to many of us, with glimpses of a bird we try to combine into one
when, more often than not, we have two. Open minds save a lot of potential
disputes! Ralph and Kay Brinkhurst, Lebanon, Wilson Co.
