[TN-Bird] 7 Isle / Douglas Dam

Covered 7 Islands in Knox Co. and areas of Douglas Lake
just above the dam in Sevier and Jefferson Counties today
(Sat, 26 Nov).

Seven Islands highlights:
NO Townsend's Solitaire... and no bluebirds for that matter,
Am Robins were the only thrushes

Hordes of sparrows including
-Eastern Towhee, at least a couple
-Field Sparrow, 50++
-Vesper Sparrow, at least one by the pond, decent photos taken
-Savannah Sparrow, at least one flushed from one of the tractor
paths down by the river
-"Red" Fox Sparrow, 6+
-Song Sparrow, 150++, probably over 1000 in the whole place
-Swamp Sparrow, 20+
-White-throated Sparrow, 100++
-White-crowned Sparrow, 5+

I had glimpses of 3-4 birds scattered throughout the place that
may have been Lincoln's but all dropped out of sight into the
tall, thick fields never to be seen again

Northern Harrier, 1 working the pond area

Cedar Waxwing, 100+, working the cedars and hackberries
American Robin, 100+

Palm Warbler, a couple by the parking lot


Douglas Dam highlights:

-Gadwall, 1
-American Black Duck, 1
-Mallard, ~15
-Green-winged Teal, 3
-Redhead, 4

-Common Loon, 3-4
-Pied-billed Grebe, ~20
-Horned Grebe, ~10

-Black-crowned Night-Heron, at least one below the dam

-Ring-billed Gull, ~100
-Bonaparte's Gull, ~30

-American Pipit, 1 flyover
