First try to run compatibility (right click on the exe in windows explorer,
properties, compatibility tab; set to Windows 95). When that fails, get
filemon and regmon from sysinternals to determine what the problem is.

Subject: [THIN] way OT: DOS applications on Windows XP

Hello, List.

I find my self in the painful situation of trying to get a DOS
applicaiton to run XP, for the completion of a PC deployment project
we are currently undertaking.

The application is homegrown, executes from a Novell 3.12 server w/
Btrieve database, and runs jim-dandily on Win9x. Got the Novell drive
mapping stuff figured out, and the application will launch but crashes
before long with error about inadequate memory.

Does anyone know of some good references for making DOS on XP work?
Do you know of any tools you know of for accounting for how the memory
is being utilized?

So far, running the app in Win95 compatibility mode has made no
difference. Not sure what else to try.

Any ideas you might have are appreciated.
