Default settings for ICA session hotkeys:
CTRL + F1 =3D Ctrl + alt + del (sorry had the wrong one here)
CTRL + F2 =3D Ctrl + esc (opens the start menu)
CTRL + F3 =3D Ctrl + shift + esc (taskmanager directly)
These will only work once you've established an ICA session to your TS
servers.
The printer redirection event is generally not relevant, though I
believe there is a hotfix out to finally resolve it.=20
If you're thinking it's a possible printer driver problem, I highly
recommend project compatibility. It's very handy in finding the bad
printer drivers across your whole farm, and it's pretty easy to use. You
will need to install the .Net extensions to your servers first however,
and that does require a reboot.=20

Thanks to Doug Brown and crew for putting it together in the first
place. Very very handy software.

Yup, the three finger salute will not work. No, I have not tried
Ctrl-F2.
What is it supposed to do? I tried it on my local pc and nothing
happened.
The closest thing I have to an event error is printer driver blocking.
I
block all those fax drivers from attempting to map. I occassionally get
an
"internal communication error has occurred. Printer redirection ...."
type
errors. Someone mentioned a problem with the print spooler, so he may
be
on to something.
As for software changes, nada. Config changes, nada. I can't test RDP
as
it has been disabled by our security folk.
Thanks for the other ideas (new profile, etc).

CTRL-alt-del doesn't work from the console? Have you tried Ctrl + F2
from a hung session?
Once again, no event errors can be associated with the time that this
hang up occurs?=3D20
If running task manager from a session or a console as an admin when a
user session gets hung up on login, do you notice any particular process
from the hung session continuously using memory or processor
resources?=3D20
Can the start of this issue be traced back to any server config changes,
or new software installation to the TS servers? Or has this issue been a
problem since the original time of installation?
Have you tried logging in with a new profile for either admins or users
who've been having this problem a lot?
Does the same thing happen over an RDP connection? (I would assume so
since it happens at the console, but it never hurts to check)
Just giving you some possible ways to go here. I've seen similar lock
ups on older TSE installations, not newer win2k servers.=3D20

No can do. Since the login process does not complete , I can't bring up
anything. It's as if the system is hung. Since there is no taskbar and
CTRL-ALT-DEL won't work, I can't get to Task Mgr.

As a work around, you should be able to get to the desktop from both a
session and from the console by launching task manager and starting up a
new process of explorer.exe.
You've got no event errors from the app or system logs at the time of
these login hangs?

Hi All,
On a W2K SP2 XPe FR2 system, we occassionaly get strange lockups. Users
and admins will get the login prompt, but once the credentials are
entered,
all you get is either the MF logo (for remote users) or a blue screen
(not
BSOD) if logging on locally at the console. It's as if the login
procedure
is not passing off to the rest of the system.
Any ideas?
