Just to ask the simple question, the other server is setup to accept SQL
auth?

Secondly, I haven't done SQL auth on a replicated setup; what happens when
you create a second account with access to the db on the replica and use
that for auth? I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the account...

Actually, if you do a manual install and do a test connection what happens?
