[THIN] Re: samba as DC in a TS setup.

Most of it worked right away.

The hardest part was actually the joining of the domein. A custom
script was needed to tell SAMBA how that was done using the Debian
Authantication mechanisms.

A sample script was present, it needed some googling to find out the
correct syntax for smb.conf and the Debian locations etc.

All the rest was basically foreseen by Webmin/SAMBA. A great combo.

A bit of puzzling with local policies on the TS to get connected, thats it.

They have a big high volume Canon fax/print monster, to my pleasant
suprise supported under Linux via CUPS.

DNS/DHCP/WINS all served by Debian.

An interesting excercise.. throw a reasonable email/calendering combo
on top, and most SME's I know could use it.

I guess you could even do it with SBS, little cheaper that full swing
server2003.
