Guys,
This is not really a problem but maybe somebody can explain why this is
happening. This has been ongoing for the last 4 month. I have a w95 client
with HP LaserJet 5M attached to LPT1.
Problem: when a particular user starts the Citrix session the printer is not
autocreated and if you start PRINTCFG it is stated in the DISCONNECTED
state. If you click CONNECT it works just fine until user logs off. Next log
in this user has to connect it again. On the MF server there is a 1 message
in the Event Log "Unable to retrieve client printer properties for
Client_name\local_printer_name, the default settings will be used". Other
users get this printer just fine on that PC. This particular user gets local
printers everywhere else but his PC.
Things I tried: Reinstall the CItrix Client (now running V.7.00), reinstall
Windows 95, connecting this printer using native LaserJet 4 and Citrix UPD.
All that did not help. This 1 user still gets his local printer in
disconnected state.
What helped: if I rename the PC citrix name (or edit WFCNAME.ini) the
printer is autocreated for that user.
Same user logs in elsewhere and printers are created. This user account
settings pertining to TS look the same as everybody else (like "connect
client printers" is checked and so on). Anybody knows if it is possible for
the farm to somehow block a client name from printer creation?
Environment: W2K domain, still some NT DCs, Citrix MF XPa FR2 on W2K SP3
Thanks,
