The second release of the FR3 CDs (in the folding white pack) had a "V2" on
the back cover. It was right above the bar code.

This is what I had to do....

I heard that there were 2 sets of media from Citrix.

The decision has been made to trash the existing farm and start again
with
FR3!

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as duff FR3 CD's???

Hi Andrew, This util applies only to pre msi 2 installers?

Arrggghh.. I'm in a bit of a sticky situation.. I need to build a 24
server
farm.

We had started the first three servers with fr2 and have been told to
move
them to fr3!!??? upgrading to fr3 causes the machines to blue screen..

I guess my options are...
1. build the new servers using fr3 cd's and eventually replace the
existing
machines with fr3 fresh installs also.. however, I read in an earlier
message that someone followed this route and it ended up trashing the
datastore ???

2. start again with fr3 cd's???

Try reinstalling the newest MS installer from the FR3 CD.

We have a FR2 farm...

I selected one server at random and stuck the fr3 cd in. Ran the
upgrade
part and about three quarters way through installing it gave me the
following error- "ERROR 1722. There is a problem with the Windows
Installer
Package. A program as part of this setup did not finish as expected..
contact your vendor.."

IT then bombs out.

Out of curiousity, tried running CMC which caused a blue screen.

I ran the msi installer thing in the CD's support directory and tried
again... same thing...

I tried to re-installl and got the option to repair... and this seemed
to go
through ok.. but then running CMC caused blue screen again, so I
suscpect
all it did was replace some files...

hum-ho

Any help would be much appreciated... I'm supposed to be delivering
this kit
tomorrow....arrrggghh

yeah, they stop working !!

>>> Adam.Baum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 02/10/03 14:14:59 >>>

In answer to your original question, if you have the media from
Citrix,
pop
in the CD and install the thing. It installs right over FR2. Then
you
have to go through the whole Fulfill Eligble products at myctrix and
add
al;l the FR3 licenses. And don't forget to set your release
level..Also
check out the archives on thethin.net for FR3 topics. It changes the
way
some things work.
