no problem, I did... many times...

I have just used version 0.7 of dsverify which reported, as expected, that a
duff server entry existed in the group, but on try to clean the group it could
not remove the server entry... so, I tried a clean of the folders and hey
presto... it removed the entry no problem and DataStore referential integrity
back at 100% hoorah.

cheers, Brian

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your response,

Its a dev farm which is accessed by every man and his dog and his dogs
friends and his dogs friends friends. Which means anyone could've added it
and removed it in any form they chose.

It doesn't appear in the CMC. Am about to try dsverify.. will report on
results..

cheers, Brian

Is it in the CMC? Can you not remove it from there?

What happened to the server?

Hi all,

I have a server object referenced in the 'Servers' Group object in my
Datastore.
The server object it refers to no longer exists (or at least I don't think
it does, short of searching every object in dsview.exe (why on earth does
dsview lack any kind of functionality at all(I just want to search for
something))).

How on earth do I get the DataStore to get rid of this ref. At present, we
have unattended installs failing halfway through and I'm not sure if this is
because the server is trying to be added into the default Servers Group
object (which has the orphaned server object in)!!

Heelllppppp....

Brianos
