I just use the delete key.. ; )  Oh you lost all your
settings...sorry...guess there was a glitch in the system. Just recreate
them. BOFH

You confused me by calling it ntuser.dat - it should be ntuser.man,
then.

If you run mandatory profiles, just load it in regedt32, and trim /
delete the redundant values / keys from the hive.
