Hi, To access a file share using a DNS alias you have to create the following registry value: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters Value name: DisableStrictNameChecking REG_DWORD Value: 1 Unfortunately it doesn't work for printers though - MSCS is required for that. Otherwise, if you try and access a netbios resource, and don't use the registered netbios name (or IP address) you throw snake eyes. Now I create a alias in the dns for toto1 and name it "tutu2". I can ping tutu2 no problem, I get a reply from toto1. But when I try to map "net use z: \\ tutu2\d$" it just doesn't work! Can anyone help me here?
