[THIN] Re: basic dns question

The only implementation (I know of) and supported method of aliasing netbios
node names and *using* them is as implemented in MSCS.

Otherwise, if you try and access a netbios resource, and don't use the
registered netbios name (or IP address) you throw snake eyes.

Subject: [THIN] basic dns question

Hi,

I have a server w2k3 "toto1" in a NT domaine "dodo1"
when I do a net use z: \\ toto1\d$ works fine.

Now I create a alias in the dns for toto1 and name it "tutu2". I can ping tutu2
no problem, I get a reply from toto1.

But when I try to map "net use z: \\ tutu2\d$" it just doesn't work!

Can anyone help me here?

Nicolas
