McAfee here. We have always believed they were the cause of many strange issues on the NT4/WTS servers. We had a long history of the filter driver causing crashing on these boxes. We pulled it off of there and the servers ran really, really well. I had never worked from a server without AV before. The difference was noticeable. They eventually provided a patch and I can't really blame them for anything in terms of NT4 stability anymore, just performance. I don't even notice them on my Windows2003 boxes though. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 3:04 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: antivirus time again Symantec here but I dream of using Trend one day on my Citrix boxes. :) -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Matt Fowler Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 9:19 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] antivirus time again Well, it's that time again. Time for another AntiVirus poll: What are you using on your Win2K Citrix Metaframe XP servers? Trend Micro, Symantec, McAfee, Sophos, eTrust, F-Secure, others? Thanks for your input.
