I hear you all. Yes, licensing is nice with Symantec. PC or server is a
license. Since we have ample licensing I went with it. Before that I
didn't have any anti-virus on the servers because I thought everything else
was locked down good. Damn users always find a way to infect whatever they
can, and sure enough they have gotten viruses on the Citrix servers.
Symantec 8.0 has cleaned all that up. It works for us is all I'm saying.

Thanks for all the helpful replies!!!! This list is great!

The issues with Symantec AV in the past were incompatibility with =
Terminal
Services and excessive use of CPU. Historically, Symantec was always =
playing
catch up and many of us lost faith in them because of recurring =
problems.
Since the late 7.x and now 8.x products the situations has been fine. =
That
is why the old timers shutter at the thought of Symantec on Citrix, but =
in
reality it is probably fine to use if you have the latest versions.....

I don't usually express opinions about an entire company.. but the only =
good
product I've ever seen from Symantec were the old dos Norton Utilities =
(ver
4.5) from 20 years ago. Of course they were a different company back =
then,
and I assume those who programmed those utilities have moved on.

I wouldn't bet my job on them is all I can say.

Ummm.... we have Symantec NAV 8.0 on our Citrix Servers. Is there =
something
I should know Jim?

It's what we use corporate wide, so that's why I loaded it on our Citrix
servers. My biggest worry was utilization which it doesn't suck too =
much
of, what else should I be considering/watching?

Thanks for any advice.
