[THIN] Re: XP or Win 7 Embedded

Hi Magnus

Good to know you’ve gone for the Linux version. As both you and Andrew have
said, we’ll get a few different vendors in and see what fits us best.

Thanks again

We went with devonit. We did test wyse, igel, hp, and a slew of others.

We went with the Linux version, it's easy to customize /brand, easy to manage
with a web based management tool, very easy to update not only devices in you
wan and LAN but also any individual component in the thin os.

Support is awesome, and feature enhancements come out quickly ( ie their was a
specific feature that we needed and they were able to turn it around in 2 weeks
not months like some of the others)

Hello again

Maybe I should ask this question differently; has anyone recently committed to
a particular vendor for thin client appliances? I’m thinking Wyse or Igel but
would appreciate anyone’s experiences. Reasons for the decision would be good.

Thanks

Subject: XP or Win 7 Embedded

Hello everyone

Does anyone have experience of using Win XP or Win 7 Embedded in their thin
client devices? I’m wondering why I would need Embedded if I’m looking to use a
thin client device for a Citrix published desktop or XenDesktop? I see some
Wyse devices are HDX ready without Embedded.

Thanks

Russell
