Yes, I would love a Quad but that is a desktop. All my Macs are
laptops... oh well. I want to see if I can get a solid state put in
my 14" Macbook and then I'm upgrading from 2GB RAM to 4Gb. If I can do
that I think I will solve the slowness. It is basically a drive issues
for me.. the thing just spins and spins and another this I don't like
about the Mac is that there is no darn drive light. give me a drive
light so I know my drive is pegged.. rrrrr....

but, the hardware is just insane cool... I love it!!!

I have a Mac Pro quad. No slowness there. But that's where I think
google apps becomes powerfule. Mac, PC, Unix, doesn't matter. It's
blazing fasat with firefox 3 too. Although I really like iWork. I
loaded it out of curiosity and now my wife won't let me remove it. She
loves Numbers.

Yah, I agree with you Joe. I actually love Vista as I have a REALLY
FAST PC so it can handle vista but it is far from what I would like.
So, I have switched to the Mac in some ways. I have two Mac. A 17"
laptop and a 14" laptop. I love them BUT, without VMware Fusion I find
it to be useless for business. In fact, I don't use it at all for work
but only use it as an iTunes box, for podcasts, for videos, movies, and
all that stuff... Office 2008 is much better but I just hate having
only one mouse button and I know I can plug a mouse in but not while I'm
on my couch or in bed (I love to work in bed, is that too much info for
you guys??? )... So, Thanks for VMware and Parallels my Mac is
useful but I really need a solid state drive as I HATE the slowness of
the VMs... I sit and wait and wait and wait and now matter how much you
hate Vista I don't wait with Vista.. Only XP running in a VM on my
Mac...

So, I pray Microsoft gets 7 right. I think they know how we all feel
and today it is just way tooooooooo early to tell what 7 will be like...
But, I jus don't think the Mac is a solution..

Although, I know Steve G is a big Mac guy so I would love to hear his
views on it and maybe he can explain how I can use my Mac for more than
just fun.. ;)

I guess it's time to switch to a Mac.
