For anyone still on W2K SP3, hotfix 883939 (IE Cumulative Security patch) apparently has this same effect. Same patch on SP4 is okay. Citrix has been receiving reports that, after applying this Update Rollup to servers, users are no longer able to connect to Citrix MetaFrame XP servers. The session begins to launch and hangs at a blue background. The Windows GINA is never called to continue the session. Current information This has only been reported with MetaFrame XP, however, it is very possible that this issue could affect Presentation Server 3.0 and Presentation Server 4.0 environments as well. The problem only appears to occur with Windows 2000 client machines. At this point, users connecting from Windows XP workstations are not affected by the issue. RDP connections to the server are also not affected. Full details on this issue are not yet available. Citrix and Microsoft are working together to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Currently, the only known workaround is to remove the Update Rollup 1 to restore the connections.
